It is a large red brick building on Newport Road (opposite the Texaco garage). The library is situated on the edge of a busy shopping area, and is a ten-minute walk from the city centre. The library is on several main bus routes - numbers 30, 30D, 44, 45, 49, 50, 56, X46 and X59. The nearest available parking is on Clifton Street. Services available There are regular displays on local history, environmental issues and community events. Here are some of the other services available: · 13 PCs with public access to the Internet · CD Roms (reference only) · regular storytime Tuesday afternoons at 2.30pm; also Rhyme-times every fortnight on Monday afternoons at 2.15pm. Language and Play sessions (please contact library) · ESOL classes for asylum seekers are held in the library 4 days per week - please add: Mon-Thu.inclusive 2-4 · Adult Education classes from East Moors, meet in the library during term time - should read Watercolour class 10-12 each Tuesday term time, organised by East Moors. · Community local history archive available for public inspection · Reading Group first Monday of each month at 4.30pm.
