A cultural venue The Library's wall art features the work of artist Neil Canning Living in Wales has inspired his range of colourful, energetic paintings illustrating light and weather on the landscape or the sea. The striking exhibit immediately outside the library entrance was designed by Jean Bernard Metais (open September 2009). Music will be a feature in the library with specially designed music pods, a great way to listen to music. And look out for the grand piano - you can book it and play! A sustainable building for the future Cardiff Library is set to become the city's most sustainable as well as one of the most iconic buildings It achieves the highest ratings for sustainable development, energy and water efficient services. An educational resource It is a stimulating environment for children of all ages to learn with the latest educational materials, information and entertainment. Children have their own secure floor with a range of traditional and interactive materials. Those who are looking for study space and quiet reading areas can find both at Cardiff Library. Meet at Cardiff Central Library The state of the art building provides Cardiff with a new meeting venue.
